We are seeking an experienced Professional Customer Education Manager with a proven experience with designing professional education programs. The two therapy areas, movement disorders and chronic pain management, both have a profound impact on patients and caregivers lives. As a result you'll join a committed team driven to advance the widespread adoption and appropriate use of the full company portfolio with a focus on implantable device therapies. The Associate Professional Education Manager position requires process-oriented candidate (to properly manage compliance requirements inherent in healthcare) but balanced by a strong ability to be resourceful and creative, exhibit strong interpersonal and communication skills, as well as possess the ambition to advance their career to a leadership position as we expand the team to support our explosive revenue growth. This role will leverage and impact our market leadership position into educational program design, content development, key opinion leader interaction, and educational event execution. This position focuses on converting our clinical outcomes requirements and commercial objectives into customer education.
Accountability of this role:
  • Accountable for building the strategies and plans for education programs engineered and aimed at advancing understanding and adoption of company technologies.
  • Accountable for developing and delivering Professional Education programs to our Customers (Fellows).
    • Educational program design
    • Content development
    • Key opinion leader interaction
    • Event execution.
  • Accountable for developing relationships with Key Opinion Leaders who will serve as advisors to curriculum development, content development and faculty/instructors for professional education.
  • Accountable for maintaining an in-depth knowledge of Company products, therapies, educational market and business objectives in order to develop and implement continuing education programs.
Main Responsibilities:
  • Project leader for each program; facilitating course curriculum, faculty, participation and all execution.
  • Contributes to the development and maintenance of relevant speakers.
  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams from Education, Product Marketing and Sales management to provide educational opportunities for physicians, fellows and advance practice providers
  • Identifies program ‘champions’ within the sales organization to implement initiatives and liaise with program directors and fellows.
  • Establishes and manages vendor relationships related to products and services of value to professional education initiatives.
  • Maintains the necessary communication skills and methods that provides for the exchange of strategic opportunity and program information.
  • Complies with geographically-relevant regulations, other regulatory requirements, Company policies, operating procedures, processes, and task assignments.
  • Maintains positive and cooperative communications and collaboration with all levels of employees, customers, contractors, and vendors.
  • Educational requirements: bachelor degree, master is preferred
  • Preferred academic background: medical, pharmacology, scientific or engineering related fields, or equivalent.
  • 3 to 5 years’ experience in working with clinicians (especially physicians), or experience in the medical device field strongly referred.
  • 3 to 5 years’ experience Developing Professional Educational Programs
  • Extensive experience in applying fundamental concepts and practices to conduct needs assessment and design professional education programs.
  • 10 + years’ working experience in the professional education or related field strongly preferred
  • Must have experience in coordination, execution and leading programs.
  • Ability to leverage and/or engage others to accomplish projects.
  • Strong verbal and written communications with ability to effectively communicate at multiple levels in the organization.
  • Adept at being able to focus and prioritize to meet deadlines.
  • Strong organizational and follow-up skills, attention to detail and high standards of excellence.
  • Ability to travel approximately 45-50%. May include some international travel.
  • Can be required to work weekends
Preferred Qualifications:
  • An advanced credential, such as an MBA in a relevant discipline/concentration, a plus.
  • Professional training/education certification or designation, a plus.
