Job Purpose

Responsible for the identification, development, implementation and validation of manufacturing systems, capital expenditures and process/equipment modifications to result in capacity increases, cost reductions, and quality enhancements of products, processes and equipment.

Essential Functions
  • Identify requirements and implement process and equipment and facility improvements for the purpose of product transfers, increased capacity, cost savings, and quality enhancements
  • Assess capabilities and capacities as they relate to new and existing products
  • Analyze facility layout and operation data to include process flow diagrams and make recommendations for efficient utilization of personnel and equipment
  • Identify, evaluate and recommend value-added capital expenditures that result in cost savings and/or quality enhancements
  • Review proposed capital improvements to include evaluation of design specifications, quotes and bids for facility and equipment modifications
  • Identify engineering specification and source equipment based on project requirements
  • Define and conduct qualification procedures for new and modified equipment
  • Oversee, perform, and document calibration and preventative maintenance procedures needed to result in equipment that is in good working condition, in accordance with corporate policies and in compliance with GMP
  • Contact outside vendors to conduct major repairs and other preventative maintenance on equipment
  • Develop leadership competencies and foster an environment that results in risk-taking, energetic, accountable work force that works together to fulfill corporate objectives
  • Perform work in a safe manner consistent with the company’s health, safety and environmental policies and assume responsibility for personal safety
  • Participate in training processes that are designed to develop a highly skilled workforce
  • Understand and utilize documentation protocols and accurately and legibly complete all documentation on time to result in a product/process history consistent with GMP requirements
Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering or related field
  • 2-5 Years experience
  • Knowledge of GMP and ISO regulations
  • Knowledge of Programmable Logic Control systems
  • Knowledge of electrical, mechanical and plumbing systems
  • Experience with capital expense request process such as writing the justification for the purchase of new equipment
  • Ability to work and communicate effectively with a wide range of co-workers in a cooperative manner
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD and data acquisition systems
  • Experience with MS office suite
  • Ability to plan and manage time well
  • Maintain a high level of initiative, effort and commitment
  • Ability to align behavior with the needs, priorities and goals of the organization
