Reporting to the Director of Business Development-North America, the Regional Account Manager is responsible for growing technology licensing, engineering services, proprietary equipment and automation solutions business. This position advances market share for the Technology Business Unit, which specializes in process development and technology licensing of energy-efficient and cost-effective hydrocarbon technologies.  We help our clients by enhancing their technical and economic positions in the hydrocarbons industry.
  • Manage an assigned group of customer accounts and perform routine sales functions such as site visits to operating plants and client offices, coordination of technical and commercial responses to ITB in timely manner
  • Identify new opportunities, and practice a systematic selling process.
  • Responsible for communicating the value proposition of our Technology to senior level management within the Ammonia / Syngas and Olefins marketplace through a consultative sales approach.
  • Implement strategic sales and marketing plans to drive business development in North America (US & Canada).
  • Identify, develop, and maintain strong relationships at multiple levels within the customer’s organization (e.g. plant engineers, technology subject matter experts, purchasing/contracts managers, business managers, and senior leadership) to create a trusted advisor status.
  • Advice and work with our marketing group on recent market trends in North America to produce effective marketing communications and campaigns.
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s or Advance Degree in Chemical Engineering or directly related discipline required; MBA is a plus.
  • Minimum 9+ years’ experience, which includes Sales experience in the Hydrocarbons market required.
  • Strong consultative technical selling and customer management skills required; experience working with senior management, the ability to develop strong relationships and cohesive work environment with senior executives and strong problem solving skills are essential.
  • Must have experience with sold products/services to Petrochemical or Syngas/Ammonia industry.
  • Experience with the breadth of technology licenses and process equipment for Ammonia and Fertilizer, Synthesis Gas / Syngas, Olefins, Coal Gasification, Refining, Hydrogen and Organic Chemicals.
  • Strong business acumen; passion for the hydrocarbons industry, along with solid business relationships with network of industry professionals required.
  • Hydrocarbons Technology licensing and contract negotiation experience a plus.
  • Strong leadership, project management & time management skills required.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills required.
  • Proficient skills in MS Office Word, EXCEL and PowerPoint required.
  • Must be willing and available to travel 30-40% domestic US and Canada, as needed.
